Can I place my order online?

• Based on our experience our customers generally have questions that need to be answered and discussed over the phone.  We have found over the years that our customers appreciate our level of service and expertise.  Many times customers are building custom blinds or need to discuss the pros/cons of various windows and in some cases we help by offering better solutions and even savings.  We welcome your phone call and believe our customers are more satisfied with talking to us to confirm their questions before they order.

Do you use plexi-glass in any of your windows?

• No, we do not use plexi-glass in any of our windows and we do not even offer plexi-glass as an available option.  Plexi-glass dulls and scratches over time and is not a good option for deer blind windows.  We use only regular glass, tempered glass or in the case of our Dura-Windows – vinyl.

Is the operation of the windows quiet?

• Yes, the windows open quietly.  There is occasionally some maintenance that will be required if dust or leaves get in the channels.  Simply blow these out with a product like the pressurized air for cleaning computer keyboards.

Do you make custom window sizes?

• Yes!  Please give us a call and we will help you with any custom window size.

Do you offer any types of Discounts?

• Absolutely, please be sure to mention this when you are placing your order.  We are located in Denton and we will provide you with the address to our sales office.

Do you have replacement windows or parts for my deer blind?

• Our windows will fit most any commercially made deer blinds.  We also have parts that will work for most window component that can break.  Give us a call and we can help you determine what you will need.

Congratulations on your purchase of the best deer blind windows available – Texas Deer Blind Windows.  Your windows will provide with you years of service with very little maintenance required. We have provided both installation instructions and suggested maintenance for years of maintenance free service.

Suggested Tools and Materials:
Power saw, screw driver or power drill, level, tape measure, square, caulking gun, adhesive sealant, screws and a helper (it is easier with two people)

Window Installation:
To aid in this example we will assume a vertical sliding rifle window that is 14” W x 12” H. because this window only has one pane this is the size of the pane.  The actual window frame in this example is 14” W x 23” H.

Cut your window opening:
The first step is to cut your window openings using a power saw.  A good rule of thumb for the bottom of the window height is 39” to 41” but you should measure for your preference.  The window opening needs to be square and for this window you would cut your rough opening to be approximately 1/8” less than the width and 1/8” less than the height.  For our example window, a 14”x12” we will need to cut the rough opening size 13 7/8” x 11 7/8”.  Keep in mind the window frame for this window is actually larger than the window pane size so you will need room above this rough opening to install the window.

Test fit the window in the opening:
Once the window opening is cut you will need to test fit the window.  The window will mount on the inside wall of the blind.  For this style window the inside window extrusion should completely cover the rough opening.

Put sealant on the window:
Next you will need a quality adhesive sealant such as PL Ultimate Hybrid Sealant + Adhesive, which can be found at Home Depot or Lowes.  The main qualities you are looking for in your sealant is pliability and an adhesive factor, we do not recommend sealants such as Liquid Nails which cure hard.  You will need to run a good bead all the way around the inside flange of the window to seal it tight.

Install the window:
Make sure the window is level and that you have a good 1/8 inch of clearance all the way around the window if looking at it from the outside.  Once you have the window in the desired location start screwing the window in place.  Start in the top left corner with one screw and then go the top right corner with one screw.   Test slid the window and make sure it still slides freely, then work your way across the top of the window.  Start on the sides and alternate from the left side to the right side and then finish up by screwing the bottom.  Congratulations you are done!

Maintenance:
Depending on the amount of dust, fallen leaves, etc. in your area you may need to occasionally clean the bottom window channel.  You can easily do this by removing each window from the frame by opening the finger clips and pulling the window out of the channel.  You can then clean the channel and apply a small amount of WD-40 or Teflon oil to the channel to keep the window from squeaking.  To clean the window panes use either Windex or soap and water.
